Alexis Guidotti is an artist photographer based in New York City, with footprints in Massachusetts and France.
Guidotti decided to dedicate himself to art and photography after having served as an analyst and a human rights investigator in various UN peacekeeping missions –from Côte d’Ivoire to the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, and Haiti.
Building on this international career in human rights and human security, his multicultural experience of human beauty and tragedy reveals itself in his intimate use of portraiture, while his composite work translates the fractured, yet symbiotic nature of our environment and social experiments. As he explores the intricacies and variations of who we are and what surrounds us through street photography, he always seeks to put light on the universal synergy at play – between him and his subjects, between his subjects and their community, and between all the perceived fragments of our world eventually coming together as one.
